IT managers securing entry points to their corporate networks could be
missing an obvious back door: unsecured "rogue"  modems connected to phone
networks.

Start-up SecureLogix next month will unveil a scanner that detects such
unauthorized modems. The TeleSweep Secure scanner automatically dials
phone numbers throughout a company and identifies which lines are being
used for voice, fax and data.

Later this year, SecureLogix will roll out a complementary firewall,
called TeleWall, that automatically terminates calls that violate security
policy and notifies IT managers either by pager or e-mail.
