[News.com] (9.20.98) STOCKHOLM--Hackers sabotaged the Web site of Sweden's
main opposition party last night, only hours before election voting began,
a party spokesman said today.

Hackers are suspected of linking a portrait of Moderates party leader Carl
Bildt to the home page of the ex-communist Left Party. Bildt is Sweden's
former prime minister and a Bosnia mediator, as well as his nation's
right-wing standard bearer.

The page, which has since been repaired, also promised a discussion on
European issues with Swedish pornographer Hans Scheike, with links to his
home page.

"We're not sure how it happened. We haven't decided whether to go to the
police," the party spokesman said.
