(INTERNET-SECURITY-SYST)(ISSX) ISS Expands Trusted Security Advisor
Focus, Launches New Professional Services and Training Organization
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 1998--
Industry veteran, David Dodge, appointed vice-president of
Professional Services
Internet Security Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISSX), the leading provider
of adaptive security management software, today announced the launch of
its new Professional Services organization.
This team of highly experienced security consultants will support ISS
customers across the United States, and in other nations, as they
implement improved information security measures to combat the growing
vulnerabilities and threats found in rapidly changing networked
environments. With a focus on integrating ISS's own world class software
with top rated products and tools from other companies, the ISS
consultants will help end-users achieve the best- of-breed solutions that
are so urgently needed in the government and commercial industry today.
The capability to monitor, detect and respond to security risks has
become a critical technology issue due to the growth in open computing
environments and the sharp rise in security threats to important networked
information. With a severe market shortage of qualified security experts,
customers worldwide require a trusted security advisor who can not only
provide leading adaptive network security software, but who can also
deliver world-class consulting services and knowledge transfer.
"True enterprise security is an ongoing process, not a one-time
effort," said David Dodge, vice president of ISS's Professional Services.
"More and more customers want to tap into ISS's pool of security
professionals to quickly and efficiently deploy ISS's best-of-breed
products. They also want us to aid them in evolving their entire
enterprise toward better security standards and solutions. With ISS's new
professional service offerings, our customers can maximize their
investment in ISS technology while our experts train, mentor and support
the customer's staff in rapidly achieving practical information security
results."
The ISS Professional Services team will be lead by David Dodge. David
joins ISS from IBM Global where he served as vice president of Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) Consulting and Implementation Services throughout
North America. In this role, David built a one thousand person consulting
organization in 36 months. When he joined IBM in 1991, he spearheaded
IBM's client/servers-related consulting and methodology development.
"With our service partners and our authorized training centers," Mr.
Dodge notes, "we can provide a complete portfolio of support to ISS
customers regardless of size or geography." ISS's Professional Service
offerings include vulnerability and threat assessment, security strategy
and planning support, security policy and standards development, solution
implementation and integration, emergency incident response and a full
range of training and education services.
