Even the U.S. government doesn't seem to get its own export rules, which
prevent strong encryption from being freely distributed on the Internet.
The Army's Fort Bragg web site features a copy of PGP 2.6.2 that's
available for anyone to download -- including those international
terrorists and drug cartel members that the FBI constantly complains
about. We did, just to check it out. And we're not alone: 92 other people
grabbed the file -- which the Army proudly bills as "The ultimate in
e-mail security!" -- from bbs.bragg.army.mil.
