I'm not exactly sure how accurate this article as I have some doubts.

This week on the Internet
by Tanya Accone

The term "hacking" spans the spectrum from somwehat
malevolent alterations to the instances where life may
hang in the balance. While hardly at the level of cyberterrorism,
this week's SA Airways(SAA) website incident raises the
question of whether hacking has come home to roost.

SAA says a "foreign source" placed information on its
website(www.saa.co.za) advising visitors to avoid Cape
Town during the "green season" between June and August.
The city's tourist industry responded angrily on discovering
the misleading information, and are concerned about the negative
impact it might have caused.

The Web the week was characterised by a global crackdown on
security breaches of a far more serious nature. The US justice
department unsealed details of its first case against a
juvinile hacker. The teenager, who disabled telecommunications and
vital air traffic contro services at an airport, was
successfully prosecuted.

In its second move against computer hacking this week, the
department exerted its influence beyond its borders. It
announced the arrest of three Israeli hackers suspected of
breaking into US and Israeli government networks, and business
and educational systems elsewhere.

The extent of hacking is difficult to establish. In many cases
organisations who detect an attack do not report the incident
for fear of negative publicity.
