This is to announce the creation of a new mailing list and a new project,
the ASWAN project.
The purpose of the ASWAN project is to develop and to discuss DOS
prevention/hardening and flood-control and anti-spam prevention measures.
The application of said measures are not limited to remailing or MTAs.
ASWAN short for Availability Security for Wide Area Networks, its also the
name of the dam across the nile - as in flood control *grin* (Actually, we
liked the name aswan, in the dam, then we figured out it could also be
used an an acronym)
First on the agenda is to discuss the hashcash ideas being talked about
here and on other mailing lists, but the discussion is not limited to that
topic.
